Land Deal Boosts Growth for Ashby Firm

04 December 2015

Acting on behalf of Bott, leading Leicestershire commercial property specialist Andrew and Ashwell has negotiated the acquisition of a 2.85-acre parcel of land at the rear of the firm’s Tournament Way manufacturing unit, on Ivanhoe Industrial Estate. The land was previously owned by Clowes Development, which is currently undertaking a major construction scheme at the neighbouring Ivanhoe Business Park.

The German-based Bott Group is a leading manufacturer and supplier of workshop equipment, in-vehicle equipment and workplace and mobile service systems, established at Ashby since 1998. With production facilities in Germany, the UK and Hungary and licensed partners worldwide, Bott operates a global service network dedicated to providing fast local response.

Bott currently employs 800 people worldwide, with 230 based in Ashby. Operatives here carry out the conversion of light commercial vehicles for companies requiring engineers out on the road. Clients include water, telecoms, engineering and manufacturing firms.

Simon Fry, Bott Director, said securing additional land to expand the Ashby site would provide vital space for further vehicles and parking.

“The additional land will be used for storing light commercial vehicles prior to being converted for our clients. It will not only enable us to keep more vehicles on-site, which will be attractive to customers, but will also ensure sufficient parking for our own staff too.”

Mike Allwood, Director at Andrew and Ashwell, said the acquisition reflected rising demand for commercial land and accommodation in a prime business park location.

“Ashby de la Zouch is well placed for commuting throughout the Midlands, as well as north and south. It is to Bott’s advantage that they have been able to remain here, in line with development that is taking place within the area and helping many firms to grow.”
